Food allergies have increased by over 50% since the 1990s, affecting at least 33 million Americans, including 12 million with life-threatening allergies. Every 10 seconds, someone in the U.S. visits an ER due to a food allergy, leading to 3.4 million emergency visits annually. Despite these risks, finding safe, allergen-free foods at many restaurants remains a challenge and many people often struggle finding safe and allergen-free foods at restaurants that aren’t as widely known.
As someone with severe food allergies since childhood, I’ve struggled firsthand to navigate websites and menus to identify safe options. Menus weren’t always clear, and online searches often require digging through pages of information to determine what’s truly safe to eat.

To address this, I decided to create a service that helps users find allergen-free foods at restaurants using filters for allergens, high-level ingredients and locations. By leveraging search technology and restaurant-provided data, the aim is to make dining safer and reliable for everyone. We started by focusing on larger chain restaurants, where menu data is more readily available. But our goal doesn’t stop there. We’re actively working to figure out ways to add more local and independent restaurants over time—so you’ll have a growing selection of safe dining options wherever you go. We really hope this service helps you discover and enjoy safe foods you love, with a bit more confidence!
